One from yesterday and one from today

Two very different images and two very different places!

I spent yesterday afternoon mooching around in the Moelwynion near Cnicht, an area I keep returning to as it's very close to home and offers the solitude I crave when in the mountains. I was not disappointed and saw no one. It was incredibly cold and very windy but worth the wait for a bit of a light-show at sundown.

Today I headed into the lonely heart of the Carneddau where I spent the afternoon prowling around Cwm Dulyn, my prey was a stand of Scots Pine which I've had my eye on for many a moon! Again, I saw no one, just me and the wild ponies in a place that has a peculiarly eerie atmosphere...

They're lovely, the light in the first is cracking but the pines are superb and have a real air of remoteness.

Two crackers,as above the light in the first is outstanding but I just love the contrasting light on those pines

I give up, can't complete with work like this lol. One word sums them up - Wow!

Those are great. I can't imagine how pleased you must be that your solitary trek up there and the satisfaction from the solace plus bringing home shots like that must be like. Really, really nice.

More lovely shots.

This thread rings a bell with me just now as it's something I'm going for.

1 has the 'big scene' going for it and will always appeal.

Having done most of 'the landscape shots' where I live I feel I'm going over old ground so I'm starting to look for interesting parts / moments / light within a view.

2 is what I have in mind. The trees and the light make the composition. It could be a portrait crop or however you want to present it.

Two quality shots Nick. No 2 just edges it for me.

Over the last few days I've been considering selling my car and buying a camper van, and then driving around Wales on my own for a few days with the camera. My head tells me it's a bad idea but photos like this really push me to do it!

Really stunning images, the first has more of a wow factor, but I find myself looking at the second for a lot longer as there are a lot of interesting parts which keep my eye glued to it

Really lovely photos, cant fault them at all :)

Yep, that about says it.
The light in the first almost looks like mount doom.

There both great photo's but the first one edges it for me.

Whilst the first has a more obvious appeal its the second that has a touch of magic about it. Well composed, great space, contrast, colour and light. Very, very nice and absolutely my sort of thing. I'd be very happy with it.
