North England Carlton Marshes - Barnsley

Anyone visit Carlton Marshes?

It's close to me and would make a good evening walk over the summer months.

Hi Rich - been a few times and enjoyed a stroll. There is a hide but it is locked. A key can be obtained via the council but there is normally someone in there on an evening.

Varied wildlife as you would expect with common birds and less common (regular sightings reported of various owls, woodpeckers (GSW and Green) and Kingfishers. There are regular sighting updates on the Barnsley bird sightings blog here:
