Nikon D750 & D780

That meerkat is super too and very cute.
Thanks, I know they get some stick these days but I have a soft spot for Meerkats ;)

I'm off to the zoo tomorrow, weather looks to be good from late morning, 17-20 degs so I'll be happy.
Taking the D750 with the 300 f4 on and the macro camera D3200 with the siggy 24-105 on (bit of a spoiler I know), guess that should work ok.
260 ish klm round trip so I hope it's worth it.
Cool, have fun. 260km round trip??? I'm assuming you mean 160 miles? :p That's dedication for you ;) Which zoo?

Nowt wrong with having a soft spot for meerkats.
Barben zoo, its outside of Marseille well, a few good miles but it's within their postcode area.
260klm is ok for me, its all motorway driving, 1h 30 ish each way, or 160 miles total if you prefer :D

No need for silly comments like that about the weather [emoji6]

Some of the images taken at Lakenheath earlier today. All taken from the viewing area car park and shot through the mesh fence.

It was pretty busy at Lakenheath, plenty of jets coming and going. The US holiday yesterday and the poor weather later this week probably made it busier. Definitely something I will try again, just a shame all activity is week days.

Nice shots and one hell of an impressive flying machine.
Maybe you was too far away but when the after burners come on they can make your heart beat more and really feel it.

Ahh, didn't realise you were across the water. Looks to have a good selection of animals there, hope the enclosures are nice (y)

Haha got ya :D yeah I hope they have too.
I'll let you know when I get home at the weekend as I'm away atm.

I'm sick of looking at all these blurry images from that cheap tat camera they call the d750. It's about time you realised how shabby it is and start getting them in the classifieds :p

There not worth anything if you wanna see a proper camera youd best go to the d500 thread

Ive lusted aft a 750 for a while, should have bought one when they were cheaper but I held off and delayed as usual. Never thought the price increase rumours would happen, D'oh

The d500 is loads better ;)

Or you could have the best of both worlds and get a DF:D:D

Yeah, not good. However, at £1250 from Panamoz it's still great value imo.

I know, keep looking at it, then remind myself I still love the d700, then say to my self " as soon as it drops in price I,ll get one" then repeat every time I look at this thread haha

But by then the d760 will be out

Well I've finally done it - sold nearly all my DX kit so I can fund a D750 :) The D7200 is going Friday and just a 16-85 left to move to pastures new.
Now, do I go UK or Panamoz is the next question - I'm not sure I'm brave enough to go grey but its significantly cheaper.

Second hand is even better!

If you're going grey Panamoz and hdew are well respected. I know this subject is debated all day long but I went to Panamoz for the d750 and digitalrev for a Tamron 24-70 f2.8.....no regrets so far

How quick was delivery? This could be the decider between keeping or selling the D700

I have no issue buying grey, you even get better/longer warranty. Panamoz and HDEW are the ones I'd use. HDEW usually have the stock in the UK so you get it quicker, but delivery from Panamoz is still quick and they tend to be a bit cheaper.

I'd rather buy new grey than used all day long (assuming similar price)

This one has to be new - need it to last a long time.
I went for secondhand (from LCE) as I wanted the opportunity to handle / decide between a D610 and a D750. Cost £1200 with under 1k activations.

Another vote for Panamoz, my new D750 arrived with a dodgy remote port. They picked it up on Monday sent it back to Hong Kong and had a new one back out to me by Friday.

I would recommend Panamoz. Bought my D750 from them and recently ordered a Nikkor 105mm f1.4E ED.
Placed the order on a Tuesday afternoon and the lens arrived before midday on the Friday.
Jessops gave the delivery time as within ten days and would have cost £300 more.

Got mine from Hdew - superb service. I wonder if my experience was unique though. I ordered on the friday before chinese new year - totally forgot they came from hong kong. So I rang them up and spoke to Naomi and she apologised and said it would be delayed - I told her that I was hoping to have it by the weekend as I had a shoot arranged,
so she said no problems and sent me a loaner d750 to use whilst I waited for my brand new one to come - Staggered by that - I could never see Jessops or even Wex doing that! So no complaints from me for using a grey company - Hdew are very good!!

Should have even cheaper! If money is tight going second hand can give you a bit of extra cash for lenses. I must admit, i've not look in the classified for ages so i don't know if there's been any lately. But still a grey second hand should be cheaper that a grey brand new. That how i bought mine, grey second hand in the classified from this forum and it was really good value for a near new item from a trusted member with only a few thousand clic and 2 year warranty left.
