Exactly why I took the shot, Allen. I was dry and comfy in
the cache but this couple, on the other side of the river,
was not. Very heavy low clouds were hovering gently over
the area, and I was under them… but they were not yet.
The light was oppressing, heavy, and dramatic. The only
possible joy in the scene comes from the umbrellas and
the eventual bite!

Perhaps some detail has been lost in the posting but there is no indication that the person with the blue umbrella was fishing. For example, where is the rod or, maybe, a float? Do you think that if you had been patient you might have caught the fish being landed?

Nope, no excuse there, Norman.
Even at 100%, the two fishing poles are just fine black
lines behind the curtain of rain in this no crop take.
At the end of my two hour presence, I saw him pull the
lines back several times but with no fish…

I like it. Looks like they are having a properly miserable day which in turn is making me feel much better about myself. Though that probably says a lot more about me than it does about your image.

The image works well for me, and conveys the sense of things closing, as they seem to when you're fishing in horrible weather like that.
