I've just renewed my passport for a holiday in November. Thanks to Brexit we are now categorised as third-country nationals.
People are being caught out by their 10 year passports and refused entry. It has to have been issued less than 10 years before the arrival date and must be valid for at least 3 months after departure date .The following costs are for adults.
I paid £82.50 for an online application but it's going up to £88.50 on April 11th. Do it by post and it's £100. Fast-track will set you back £166. You can pay £5 to have your old passport sent back in some secure way but I paid £3.80 for special delivery & signed for. I've had an Email confirming receipt and another Email confirming that my application has been approved and is in the process of being issued. I should jolly well think so being ex RNVR and christened (had no say in that ) on HMS Excellent (shore establishment-gunnery school) Whale Island,Portsmouth.
The digital photo must have been taken within a month of applying. I went to Sainsburys to have my photo taken and with two digital photos (I stood infront of a white board and had to take off my specs) I was given a code so it can be digitally read by the passport office. That was £14.99 which took me back a little. I had two spare photos from my old passport but they woukldn't do
