I was inspired, I'd just spent the night in a brothel . . . . . . . what fun :D

Actually, it was a Pension owned by a French/Swedish couple, but it had been an Ottoman brothel, you chose your lady and retire to the balcony rooms upstairs. Think more like the Merchant of Venice.

Just had the film dev for the Banbury run last June https://banbury-run.co.uk/ , mainly old guys but some younger ones (a bit like film users o_O )........a big mistake in that I should have used the T90 with flash gun as the motorcycle blacks don't show up well. Also a bit difficult as I picked a a spot as they were coming around a bend :rolleyes: at about 5-10mph and because of spectators that were blocking the start run had only had secs for a shot.

A bit of brightness today, so I took a couple of Agfa Rapid film system cameras to finish off their rolls. I've had some film jam up lately, so I was keen to see if I have found a way to overcome this. The Rapid system uses 35mm film. Around 20" is pushed into a Rapid cassette and loaded into the camera. The transport pulls film from one cassette and pushes it into another. It can get to be hard going and a few have crunched up the film sprockets well before the end of the strip. .... anyway, not that I need an excuse to shoot some film.
The ISO-Rapid I has fixed everything and makes 24x24 negs. It needs good light and objects at the right distance. I like the softness around the edges, maybe a bit LOMO/HOLGA but not as harsh.

This is on one of my first part rolls of the 517 film. The rolls loaded and wound perfectly, but the last couple of frames (could be the first couple) have some scratches in the emulsion.

The other AGFA camera used today was my ISOMAT-RAPID. It uses the same body as the ISO-RAPID cams but has a three element Agnar, scale focus lens and an auto exposure system driven by a selenium cell. It can be used in flash setting with a slower shutter and the aperture set on a scale. I'm still trying this out in auto. it seems to work very well, from 1964 ish!

This used Fomapan 200.

EDIT: Both rolls wound as they should without jamming. The possible aid in the solution to jamming rolls.... I took a few strips of film at the right length and rolled them up fairly tightly, put an elastic band round each (in the changing bag) and left them in film cans for a few weeks. They seem to adopt the curl and are easier to push into the cassette.

Your getting fantastic results from the old camera's Dave, I like the look of that film as well, will be getting myself some of that. Nice scenes and rendering there!

Every year for about 10? years have posted a shot here of this house gradually falling apart, scared to go inside by myself for more shots as you never know if any undesirables are staying there.

Another from the last short roll in an AGFA ISOMAT-RAPID. Running in auto mode (can only have auto or flash) with Fomapan 200, I guess that the film intended would be ISO 64, so maybe the selenium cell has degraded only a little. The film speed (when working as new) is set by a tab on the cassette. This one is film speed "E" (ISO64), the same as all the other film cassettes that I have.
Quite impressed by this camera, but it needs a bit of fiddling to load up the film.
Composing a square image is quite different to the normal 35mm format. I recall enjoying my 6x6 days on folding cams.

This guy wasn't scared to go inside, a lovely common nearby and have posted a few shots and I suppose I should be lucky for taking photos as all this is about 2.5 miles from my house.

I am working my way through some old slides taken around 30 years ago using a Contax RTSIII and various Zeiss and Tamron macro lenses

So disappointed...last year travelled 60 miles to see the last remaining Victor bomber at Duxford Imperial war museum (I used to work at Handley Page), but they were reorganising the display of aircraft and couldn't get near it, luckily I had the T90 and used flash to get a better image on 100 ISO Gold.
