You’ve got a real keen eye. I can’t make everyday life/landscapes look this good.
Don’t give up!
Thanks - once I get out of the house and start snapping I really enjoy taking photos.

Thanks on order.
Those VFR's sound wicked with a decent can on them. I had a mate with the VFR800 which had a pair of Akropovic carbons fitted, the noise when it revved was awesome. Even the. VFR400 sounds great....Yes Trevor thanks, a 1999 model (Generation-5 -- Gear Driven Cams), 45k on clock, nice enough condition for sure.
A second bike to ride/enjoy on sunny days.

It looks a bit slow but I need the reach for Puffins and this seems cheap used for £200.

Here’s a puffin on an X-T20 with the 50-230mm. Hopefully that should answer your question!
If you pay £200 for one you’ve been robbed. £130-150 is the going rate I’d say; but I suppose £200 is an inflated MPB price
£186 with a store warranty is alright I suppose, but if you run the eBay gauntlet you can get one for £100-110 easily.Wow, if it's £150 then I'd happily buy one for niche use (birds for me is niche!)!
There is one on WEX used for £186, the £200 one is from LCE.

Assuming you’re taking your X-T5; be aware that the 50-230mm isn’t rated to resolve 40mp; but I think you really need to be pixel peeping to see it. It was pretty good when I had the X-T50
Sharpness and speed are overratedMy options at the moment is to lug the A7R3+70-200 2.8 GM or buy this lens, which isn't as sharp but. has extra 100mm more reach.

The bag issue is real, but since I bought a Wotancraft Pilot 2L it’s made life much easier, the only bag I’ve ever had that genuinely doesn’t even feel like your carrying anything.Thanks. Ah yes, have read this.
The kit 16-50 zoom lens, or actually any zoom lens for that matter, is in danger of making the camera and lens combo too big for meI don’t want to have to take a dedicated camera bag out when I leave the house - I much prefer the every day carry approach.
The X100 (plus keys wallet and phone) fits nicely in my Aer Day Sling 2 -View: https://youtu.be/tTfOqcHeueg?si=0QwVCN3P9FOtVyDX
I believe the X-T5 with a pancake will also just about fit.
Otherwise we are going down the camera bag rabbit hole.
I’m actually talking myself back into another X100VI as I type this
The point about buying a camera, using it for a while and then selling it is valid, but it’s not because it was an X100 that I did this. I do it with all ‘things’ that I purchase, and then end up not using - some people just put the item in the back of the cupboard and move onto something else spending more money and leaving whatever is now in the cupboard to depreciate, but I need to release the money from the item before buying something else otherwise it seems like a waste to me. I also can’t stand clutter.

I meant to reply when you asked about these the other day Raymond. I've had one, and I've been thinking about picking up another one for the times when my 100-400 is overkill. It's a nice little lens; I read that the autofocus can be slow, but I never had any problems with mine. If you were thinking of using it with a teleconverter, that won't work because the rear element is too close to the mount for the TC to fit.I think I am going to get one of these, even if I use and then sell it for £100 (trade back to LCE), then i'll knock it off as rental fee for a week.
Lighter + longer than the 70-200. It will be day time anyway so F/6.7 isn't a problem.

You could simply crop the images from the A7R3 which, if I remember correctly, has a _60_ megapixel sensor. My options at the moment is to lug the A7R3+70-200 2.8 GM or buy this lens, which isn't as sharp but. has extra 100mm more reach.

Despite what I said a few posts up the page, I'd go for the 55-200 in that situation. I've never had one, but I've heard it's a nice lens... handling wise it's very similar to the 18-55 which I absolutely loved, and having an aperture ring is always a nice bonus.Okay.....slight change of mind...
XC 55-230 for £200
or
XF 55-200 for £250?
I am leaning towards the 50-200 now, metal mount and faster aperture is so nice to have. I think 300mm (in 35mm terms) vs 345mm isn't that much of a problem as on the XT5 I can crop in a little.

Loved mine. I eventually "upgraded" it to the 70-300mm but IQ was pretty much the same, just with a bit more reach. The fact that these are so cheap now is mind boggling!

Nope, Slot 2 is set to be used only when Slot 1 is full and it would be nowhere near full.Guess you are not shooting in back up mode, 2 shots into both cards.
It's probably because one side is full.
