Hi all,

I'm new to this and have been to the local nature reserve at wood lane in Ellesmere. While there are a few birds there, I found the hides to be quite away from the birds even with a 600mm lens. I was hoping someone could give me a few ideas of where to try next.

Hi Kev,

I'm in Shrewsbury. A friend of mine visits Venus Pool a couple of times a week. There's a few hides there and a walking path around the lake. Free car parking as well. He got his first Kingfisher shot there last week.

It's on the road from Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth, near a little village called Crosshouses.
