A wet, dark rainy, day with a long slow telephoto lens and an old 2014 Sony a7Rii to hand.
I grabbed this shot of a Dalmatian Pelican, mid-groom, appearing to give me the evil eye lol.
Feedback and suggestions welcomed please! Image is straight from the sdcard. This is a jpeg photo as opposed...
An exciting encounter on my last photo safari. The zebra ventured in a few times so I got to see the action repeat and get lots of images. The light was good and I was quite close so it was easy to shoot, just had to do some minor repositioning of the vehicle.

Put the 2x teleconverter onto my Sony 200-600mm lens today for some photo work and put the a7Rii to the test to see what this old 2014 full framer could do maxed out!
Poor camera really struggled with focusing and I really had to work for this!
I have done nothing post capture to this photo on...
I like the eye tracking, but it did search for the eye for too long even if I was pointing the square at the bird. It also used multiple points together.
I used this video.
I set the max ISO to 6400 but it turns out that the ISO is too grainy when looking at the photos on the computer. Weather...
This is a new photo taken with my Sony a7Rii and Sony FE 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens. I am still very much learning full frame having moved from my old Sony a6400 aps-c and am finding pretty much everything i knew about photography is worthless and am having to start over from scratch with...
Good day everyone
I am relatively new to photography. This July I am going on holiday to Namibia. I am looking for a camera that I can use there but also outside the holidays. I need the camera mainly for travel photography for family photos/photos of families, cities, for landscapes, but also...
Lapwings often appear to be a dull greenish-black and white, but when the light falls on them, the iridescence is marvellous. At Snettisham earlier in the week, the light was beautiful, and this bird stood still long enough for a decent shot. Canon 90D, 100-400 L II 1/125 f13 ISO320
Otter - Isle of Mull by David Young, on Flickr
Throwback to a trip to the wonderful Isle of Mull last May - took a while to find our otters but when we did we spent about three hours watching this girl and her youngsters
I'd normally be photographing professional football on a Saturday afternoon but with the closedown of the season I had a free day. So I went looking for a kingfisher.
This was only the second time I've ever seen one, the previous time was just seconds, this one paid me three visits and hung...
This little Robin was singing its heart out for us today in Greenwich Park. My hand was only inches away from it as it took some birdie treats from it. I swear as I whistled a little tune it copied back. Probably not intentional, but I like to think it was :)
Hi, I currently own a canon 450d and was looking at upgrading. I have looked at many used options like a canon 60d because of the price range, however I have primarily looking at the canon 7d MKi now, (didn't before because of the CF card slot and no SD card slot but realised that it's not a...
Nev Cartledge - Wondered if anyone else is watching this chap? Lots of quirky humour, more misfortune than Thomas Heaton and the landscape images are (in my opinion) really lovely. Not sure I could cope with 11 years in a camper though - the water frozen in the saucepan in less than an hour is...
