Best place to buy a basic MS Office 2024

So, I have just been scammed (I think) by a company called ProperKeys.com. I tried to purchase MS Office 2024 and the verification codes don't work. It would appear from Trustpilot, that I am not the only one. I also assume that their high number of 5* reviews are AI generated, because the 1* reviews are very recent.
So, can anyone recommend a reputable source for buying this product?

If you think that you bought a proper Microsoft licence that won't possibly fail at any stage in the future when Microsoft block it for misuse, you have been.
 
Glad you have managed to get your MS office package working. Hopefully it is a legit licence and not revoked in future.

It's not very well known (and apologies if you do know this) but with a free MS account you get free 'online' web browser versions of word, Excel, PowerPoint. For 99% of users these will serve all needs providing you are online. The functionality is marginally slimmed down but unless you're a power user you won't tell. You can simply drag your documents to your free 'one drive' and then they'll appear in your file list in the browser

All that said, I hardly use it. I use Google docs for almost everything (just because it integrates well with Google drive and Gmail which is my preferred email provider) and then I have libre office (which is compatible with word, excel etc) for the odd time I may need something offline.

It will be a 'volume' licence issued to a large corporation/organisation, designed to be used within that organisation and not for re-sale, it could be voided, expired, whatever at any time in the future.

So if it is a "volume" license issued to a large corporation/organisation, how does a retailer get hold of it?

Perhaps a quiet transaction at the back door of the office?

Personally, I've used LibreOffice since it was Star Office, because the price is right and it does everything that I need it to do...

I've used these cheaper keys a few times without any issues, but I find it's still best just to get them from MS. The added benefit is when you get a new computer and sign in using the same account as you bought them with, it can recognise you and automatically apply the appropriate licence, which is what just happened to me with a new laptop. Saved me having to hunt down the serial numbers.
