The only thing I'd recommend is if you have more than one lens buy a filter to fit the biggest one and get step up rings for any smaller lenses.

There should indeed be a hood but it's not an ordinary one, it's similar to the one on the old Sony 35mm f2.8. I have to say that I think they look odd but in reality I think they do take up less space than a conventional ordinary one.

Yes definitely, I know some folks who have a single filter for every one of their lenses and it’s madness.

I just went and checked and it's already on it! lol Aye, as you say it's a funny looking hood, which is why I missed it (well, that's what I'm telling myself...)

Stephen, good point I'm normally a major culprit of this, however I've now had my A1 over 3 years and, famous last words, I can't see what else I'd need/want from a camera ;)

Edit: I've just checked and Wex reduced my offer by 18% not 10%.

Wex take the P big time because when they resell a grey import they declare it but don't mark the asking price down. Then again I bet none of the UK retailers reduce the selling price and most won't declare it.

No need to ask long as they offer you the same price. Issue with Wex is they want to give you less for it.

I’ve noticed this also, they had the Nikon 400 4.5 listed as imported but it was the same price as the other used lenses, it was also more than it was selling for grey market!

Like everything, you have to do due diligence. If you don’t like a price then don’t buy it.

I haven’t used it on the A7RVI yet but on the RV I always shot in burst mode and it made the bracketing finish in a second.

Thanks for that. I had checked some reviews and saw no mention of increased focus bracketing speed, I’m surprised Sony have not given that info to the reviewers/ambassadors or listed it as one of the benefits of upgrading to the latest spec. Real user experience will tell I guess, think there are at least a couple on here with the R6

Any idea what FPS you were getting?
TBH I’ve only tried focus bracketing on the A7R V once and it was pretty slow at about 2 fps so not good for insects etc, will have to try it again. Cheers

Quick question.

I use 2 presets 1 and 2, the only difference really is that one allows a slower shutter speed than the other. I use the one with the faster shutter for the kids running around and the slower one for non moving stuff.
When you switch from one to the other you get a really annoying screen with the settings pops up. Is there a way to disable that screen.

Edit: AI has it's uses.

Memory Recall settings screen that appears every time you turn the mode dial to 1, 2, or 3, unfortunately Sony does not provide a way to disable it on the α7C. The screen is part of the Memory Recall workflow because it allows you to select additional saved presets (such as M1–M4 on the memory card) before confirming

Your options are:
Press the center button (or half-press the shutter, depending on your camera settings) immediately after switching to dismiss the screen and start shooting.

If you need instant switching between two setups, consider using Registered Custom Shoot Set assigned to a custom button instead of Memory Recall. It changes settings immediately without going through the Memory Recall selection screen.

If I use the Custom button option though, I won't know which mode I'm in will I.

One of those QOL updates that never made it to older bodies I guess. On the A7Cii using the dial switches between presets instantly with no confirmation popup.
