Canon A1, Canon FD 50mm f1.8 (I think). Tri-X, pushing the boat out a bit.

Hall Lee Bank Park shadows. I've been waiting for this shot for ages. I keep seeing it but it hasn't turned out well until now.

Canon A1, Sigma 18mm f2.8 Filtermatic lens. Tony Richard's studio in Leigh Spinners Mill. Massively out-of-date Kodak 200-8 colour negative film. The original scans are bright blue so I recovered them using PS Auto Tone and Auto Color.

All the shots using this lens are compromised, not even remotely in focus, despite stopping down. Also the lens doesn't apparently work on aperture priority on the Canon body. Not the best buy I've ever made, good job it was ridiculously cheap, eh?

I used to buy film from Mathers some years ago, but never recently. I'll maybe have a browse and see what their prices are like nowadays, although it's usually postage to the Highlands that kills a deal. :(
 
I was out early this morning with the Mamiya and a roll of Portra. I have always thought of this memorial that in peacetime the soldier looks like a solid right arm seamer with that action.

I have often bought Ilford film from Mathers in the past due to their good prices. Thought I'd go and check them out again but it seems the website is down. Let's hope it is a temporary problem.

Blimey, I have to say your film photography throughput is prodigious, basically you're keeping this thread and the entire Flickr alive with your contribution! Well done!

What's your secret ;)? Do you always go out with a camera in hand? Work commute grocery shopping and all?

Also what's your policy to select keepers in a roll? Do you find you tend to like most of the images you obtain across the 36 frames? As a thought exercise, if you were to select max 1-2 'keepers' from each of your rolls, what would your selection criteria be?

I want to always take a camera everywhere, but in reality I often don't (mostly where it would be an inconvenience, or if I'm going somewhere I've been a thousand times before in the local area). I do really need to try though because there have been times I've missed stuff where the light was good, or something unusual appeared. I do tend to always have a camera with me during the winter though as it's much easier to stick a small camera in a coat pocket (when it's cool enough to wear one).

My ethos when shooting is to try and make every frame count. I try hard to only press the shutter if I think the resulting picture will be worthwhile, so I'll sometime see a potential image, look around to try and get a good composition, before realising that it won't work and walking away. I also rarely take more than a single picture of the same scene or subject (unless it has something to offer that makes it worthwhile to do so). A full roll of pictures of essentially the same thing, most of which I'd probably discard, doesn't appeal - although I can obviously see why this approach would pay off for a professional.

My way of working doesn't mean I'm guaranteed keepers, but it ups the likelihood a lot. I think that if I were only getting a small number of pictures I like from each roll then I would become disheartened, so it pays to be careful when making each one. Obviously what I consider a good picture is subjective.

As to how I would narrow it right down, I'm not sure. It would likely differ from roll to roll and on the subject matter, I guess. I keep meaning to put together a website containing my "best" photos, so that might spur me to be more critical and really pare them down.

The Mrs wanted Thailand, but I told her I could not be trusted there. I wanted Cape Verde all inclusive and beach for two week she want to drive about and sample local cuisine.

We ended up deciding on Paphos in Cyprus, She can sunbathe and 100 yards away I can take pictures of historic tombs, castles and the harbour.

looking forward to a mini series on the gates at the border points as well and there is even a KT settlement or two. Troodos mountain village churches will get a look in as well. Photography wise it looks pretty bang on. :)

And it was the cheapest of the lot, winner winner chicken dinner, :ROFLMAO:
 
I have nearly finished the Bathroom re-fit, fingers crossed it will be more or less complete over the weekend, so hopefully will get back to normal next week.

Just the karndean floor, bidet, toilet and Egyptian limestone window ledge to fit over the weekend, the spotlights can wait until next week, getting sick of it now.

Im making a new garden, a framed paved base for a little storage shed & re-doing the grape vine beds.

I might get a model in with unduly large breasts and get her to pose inside the new shower cubicle with them pressed against the steamy glass. That would be nice in black and white.

Got to keep busy wacky, you know what they say............

The Egyptian Limestone is stunning I have put it round the sink polished and sealed it to bring out the whorls. I went and got another 3x2 flag so that I can use it as a backdrop is was that nice.
 
Too many cameras with almost finished rolls and no pictures to share....Finishing films already in cameras before loading more. Out with my 120 Kershaw 450 folding camera. Only a couple of frames left on the film which has been in there for three or four years.
It makes nice images, but only if I point it at a nice scene. I've been revisiting this particular spot over a few months. It is beginning to shape up. This is from around April.
The only worthwhile frame on the roll, but this could draw me back into MF if I'm not careful.
