Show us yer film shots then!

You can take a walk round the Paphos archaeological park. Not much above ground but some fantastic mosaics. I’ll be there in September.

Our apartment is about 400 yards from the harbour and the Burial sites at the beach, it looks brilliant out there I have been wondering about which filters will bring out the best of the ruins in a dusty environment, any tips? I am taking a yellow green for the Troodos mountains and the monastaries.

I am sure you have shared it before but I would love to know your workflow for home scanning and your NLP conversion. I can never get colours I am happy with scanning at home so I don't do it and it ends up costing me a fortune. I have seen many good results from other people using various holders on flatbeds to DSLR/Mirrorless scanning.

When I get a bit of time, I'll jot it down.

ECN2 from NikNTrick.

Silbersalz again. I do really like the colours with this but the whole hassle with ECN2/remjet etc is very aggravating. Think this might be the minolta 28mm prime.

Fag break on the way there, outstanding cloud formations.

The power requirement for the motorway service station surprised me.

There seemed enough supply for a housing estate.

Haven't really shot anything worthwhile on film recently. I did get some test shots back from my first rolls of slide (Velvia 50). Real pain to scan or maybe my exposures are off (don't have a lightbox to judge, a lot of them seem dark, if I hold them real close to a desklamp I can see a lot of shadow detail that the scanner is missing).

Can only seem to bracket in full stops with the above cameras rather than the preferred 1/2 or 1/3 stops.
Perfect shots, I really like them <3

Thanks Wayne.

I have more from the same outing, so maybe I'll use one of those. :)

The elephants are still my favourite, with the mums giant legs in the background watching over the babies. :p

For @Oldbones

Some indoor shots at Avoncroft with Avoncroft bake off champion!

inside a gloomy kitchen room with little ambient -15th second, there was some light from the doorway behind but Tony and Nigel were doing their best to block the doorway up hence no light, there was a flicker from the roaring coal fire.

Avoncroft Bake off.JPG
Meter on cloth drying through LH doorway

Home made butter and Jam on freshly baked scones and rock cakes cooked on an open fire. What a beautiful Lady !

Further into the room less light at 10th second

Avoncroft Bake off-2.JPG
Meter on oak beam at ceiling

Looking through from an unlit room 1/6th second

Avoncroft Bake off-4.JPG
Meter on tiles under chair

Totally unlit room very little ambient 1/3 rd second

Avoncroft Bake off-3.JPG
Meter on mangle

The 28-105 is a bulky lens an I would normally try to ensure shutter speed is over 100 because of the weight, a prime at 28 would of course offer more scope for shutter speed reduction.

Edit : to add spot meter positions

Thank you, these are great and sort of what I would take a photograph off if I was there.
Showing me where to meter has really taught me something today.

I try to meter off an area of natural light but which is not the brightest light in the scene, if you know what I mean. Then the scene falls naturally as it will, giving a sense of the atmosphere there.
