Long time lapse video in 4k

Heh, first post on this site. Just curious why when I look for time lapse cameras, hardly any have got more than 100 reviews, or when they have its only a few 100. The Brinno BCC2000 keeps getting recommended, but, its expensive, and the reviews are not good for that price point. And everything else looks cheap. Are there any recommendations for an outdoor camera shooting constantly in all weather conditions in 4K?

Never heard of Brinno, most of the time lapse videos I've seen were done of action cameras like the Dji action 6 or Gopro.
Some were done on DSLR.
For long time lapse they connect up to a battery bank.
I'm courious by how long you mean, a few hours, overnight or weeks. For weeks you're going to need some pro kit I suspect.
Overnight shouldn't be an issue for any of the cameras mentioned above.
I've no experience other that a short test, so take what I say with caution.

Have you thought of getting a GoPro? You will need a external power supply and to rig the power supply so its waterproof, but it will shoot 4k timelapses.

thee are a lot of reviews on the Panasonic G9ii camera. has excellent time lapse features. Also stop motion animation

I have run a bunch of time-lapse cameras for various work projects - mostly photographing level boards in rivers every 30 mins, for months at a time. We have used a range of no name trail cameras and a few Brinno 2000s. The Brinno's are well made and very waterproof but the images are saved as frames in a mp4 container. Image quality was OK but no better than any trail camera. They are very power efficient, the battery was good for 6-12 months, trail cam normally lasted 3-4 months. Brinno's cost 4-6 times more than a cheap trail camera so we stopped using them as they were not worth the extra.

Thanks for your reply. I am still new to it all and just wanted some ideas from others with more experience. Sometimes it will be recording for a few days and other times I will need it to be a few weeks or longer. The Dji Osmo Action 6 does look good, thanks for suggesting that. Been looking at it's specs and it looks great, and it's waterproof. Not sure what pro kit would be available though. I will browse the forum over the weekend and see what there is on this topic.
Thanks again.

Interesting. I had looked at trail cameras, but, not for time lapse purposes. Might look into this a bit more. Some can have solar attachments can't they? But, if you do that, surely they would require rechargeable AA batteries etc?
