So who's celebrating and flying a flag?
We used to have a patron saint of England who actually came from England.
St Edmund the Martyr.

But it is fun to point out to the bigoted, Daily Mail reading types that St George was A Greek (or Turkish) officer in the Roman army who never set foot in England, is the patron saint of seventeen countries and is celebrated by Muslims as well as Christians.
I think St Edmund should be re-instated and his day made a national holiday. We can still celebrate the 23rd of April as it was Shakespeare's birthday.
Steve.
