Speed & performance = cost.

The SD card you've linked to in Amazon is in a higher speed class, UHS II.

The micro is slower and is missing the high speed contacts.

Thank you. For a Canon 90D - would the second one be good enough 90% still photography?
 
You are not comparing like for like.
Argos don't do the higher spec. card, but Amazon do the same one as you have shown for Argos, costs £13.99;

The more expensive card on Amazon is an Extreem Pro card, SD rather than micro SD.
300 Mb/s rather than 190 Mb/s, V90 rather than V30.

As with many things (lenses are a good example), that last bit of extra performance costs a lot!
 
The first is a much faster/fastest card v90 compared to the latter v30 card

Plus on Amazon it is being sold by a third party merchant:(
 
Go down to a V30 Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-I is the same price as the MicroSDXC.
The V60 is £53,,,

Question is: do you need the extra speed of the V60/V90? Unless you do 8k video...
 
Thank you all - interesting I found in my box of memory cards a 16mb card - no typing error
 
Because its one of the best cards of that type in the world.

The integral equivalent is £75 and the Sony equivalent is £197.

Most people settle for slower cards which are considerably cheaper and more than enough for most people.

I think I have a 4MB one somewhere!
 
Also with the speed there's a big difference between peak and sustained write/read speeds.

Which again, might or might not matter, If it can only sustain a few hundred meg/gig or two at peak that might be ok for burst shooting but not video.
