A few good recommendations for Go Camping/Go Outdoors and we are lucky to have one locally. Bought my last two pairs from there in sales and they have been fab!

It may sound a stupid question, but what are you intending to use them for, general walking around, countryside walks, or trekking / scambling in the Lake District or Snowdonia.

If you intending to do either of the last 2 then seriously forget a £40 boot, I've learnt from experience that the cheap Hytec/cheap brands of boots are rubbish. You will need a reasonable decent boot with a good sole thats not to flexible and these usually start around the £100 mark.

If this is just a general walkaround boot, then you could try Millets or a host other outdoor retailers.

But best advice is definitely try before you buy, use the socks you intend to use with the boot to try on, as each persons foot is different, and importantly have enough toe room because you feet expand, and reason why, well it will get a might uncomfortable on you toes if you are going down hill and your boots too small.

Check out the link above, there are some useful posts.

I goto Tog for all my stuff, from snowboarding to walking. Always have some kind of deal on.
