This guy has spotted a fishing Cormorant with a possibly too
large catch… that it succeeded to swallow in extremis!

The morning low Sun did not have the time to
dissipate all of the remaining light fog and the
bird was at quite a distance, DRL only in PP.

Nothing here done to contrast… and highlights
values are peeking at 250/255 in very tiny small
areas… pretty high but not burnt yet, Dale.

I think it was probably the light on the day itself Daniel that was too contrasty, not so much the processing. I've not checked the whites via a histogram and maybe they are just within limits when checked although the front of the head between the eyes and above the beak have no detail. Maybe if things were tamed down a little it would improve the image. I'd maybe give a little more space around the gull too. I should've been more specific intially, apologies.

Not really, Dale, that area is indeed burnt with no
chance to recover. As said, a shame!
