In order to get a minimum of "blue" water in the
mid tones, I had to accept the some blown whites.
This is a rendition with proper whites at 226/255…
I tried a layer mix but it doesn't look natural anymore.
This is an extreme +/- 18 stops DR that I wanted to
experiment with… but film nor sensor are up to the
task yet as the actual limits are around 12 to 14 stops.
I think that you have your own style Daniel, which is unconventional ......... I can never figure out what you are trying to present ........ but it is certainly different
Hmm i'm not sure on this, what was your thought process here? the huge chunk of black does nothing for me in the image, was it on purpose? if so why?
i agree its soft and blown too, and it has some kind of blurry softness/smudgy area on the back of the bird... is that from trying to help the image a bit better in PP? not sure it works to be honest but i'm sure you'll get there one day with some help and advice from the great shooters we have on here
As I explained somewhere else, my chance is the marsh at
this time but shooting the same 10 to 20 bird species in all
variant is getting boring. So I use the birds as pretext to try
the sometimes very uncomfortable light conditions that are
the real subjects.
I cannot do such extravagant experiments on my clients time
so I do it at the marsh and other times in studio.
