I was watching a stunt program called "The amazing Mr ????" on TV last night,

At the end of the show they explained how each stunt had been set up and filmed, the video camera settings for the slow motion shoots were described as 400fps and 1,000 of a shutter

1,000 of a shutter? I'm assuming it's the lens aperture, but can anyone explain.

Shutter speed was probably 1/1000 of a second, which makes sense at 400 fps.

1000th of a second was the shutter speed.

Basically means the shutter was opening and closing 1000 times in one second. it's a way to control the light. Go onto youtube and check out some of the video demonstrations about shutter speed, doesn't necessarily matter about slo-mo.

Hope that helps :)
