I have the siggy 70-200 and the siggy 1.4x and it makes a good combo.
tbh, without searching through exif I'd be struggling to post an image that shows the IQ as I really see no difference in the shots. The only thing that gives it away is the f4 and a 280mm focal length

I've got the 1.4x paired with the 70-200 MkII and it works very well indeed with minimal loss in IQ (certainly compared to the 2.0x). As I'm at the work the only pic I can provide is a previously posted one with heavy PP, so excuse the artist flare:
I specifically sold my other TCs to get the 1.4x because of retention of IQ, although you must expect a small loss with all that extra glass. Also, worth remembering that the weakness of the Siggy 70-200 is that it is considered slightly soft @ 200mm, but given you're on a cropped body you be using the sweet centre portion anyway.
