1 g cf card

Hi to all
i have a 1 gb cf card in my camera
and i think its time for a change
it gives me 375 photos which is fine for all my photography
any recommendations for a cf card
most of my shots are portraits and weddings
the card says is 80x whatever that means
my camera is a canon 400d

I've Sandisk and Lexar cards in my 40D

I've used Sandisk Ultra and Extreme versions and had no issues with either card buffering...

I was meaning when the card can't keep up to speed with how quick your camera is trying to write the image files to your card, so a backlog occurs and everything slows down. Unless you "machine gun" your camera and take huge amounts of shots in 1 hit, I doubt you'll have a problem.

If you are getting 375 shots on a 1GB CF card you mustn't be getting the best out of a 10.1 MegaPixel camera. It's definitely time for an upgrade in CF card and make full use of the cameras sensor. I don't mean this to sound like a bit of a rant but what is the point in having 10.1 MegaPixels and shooting at 5.
 
You shoot weddings with just one 1gb card? What happens if that card decides to fail mid wedding?
 
Sandisk Lexar lots of good makes out there. You'll struggle to find 1gb cards anymore, think 4gb the smallest I've seen recently. Remember that you're limited to the speed you camera can write to the card, so no point in buying really fast cards, that's the 80x on the front of the card, the speed of the card which is more than adequate for your camera. You would want a 60-90 ms card to cover your needs, don't throw your other card away, just rotate the cards and you'll have a backup card if the images get corrupted.

im not familiar with the relation between the card and the mega pixal this is the card that came with the camera what do you reccomend

If you go into the menus on your camera and set the Quality to give you the maximum file size. Ideally you should be shooting RAW files rather than JPG's. You may have to do a little reading if you are not familiar with RAW files but it will be well worth it. Hope this helps.
 
Must be shooting in jpg to get that many. Buy any good brand there are very cheap now. Maybe just check what is the max size that your camera will take.It might be a limitation.
