100-400L Focussing

Quick question as on my phone, does the 100-400 focus any quicker with IS turned off and minimum range set to 6.5m.

Only reason I ask is reading up jets at fairford can be shot at 1/2500 which should freeze frame and eliminate the need for IS

The actual focus speed will be unaffected bu turning IS off

But you should definitly set the minimum range to 6.5m - this will help

Although using a 7D you will have no problems keeping up with the jets.
