Good evening, I need some experienced help please to decide which filters holder/filters to purchase. I will be mainly using a 25-105l on a 5d at the moment and will therefore be looking at a100mm system. I was edging toward the lee system but Just need to know as the lee system in general appears to be in short demand what other system would be a good choice on both the holders and the filters?

Thanks mark. Are the cokin holders ok to use with lee filters? Any pitfalls of going this way?
 
The Lee holder is superb, a very well engineered piece of kit which beats the cokin effort hands down.

I had a hard time telling the difference between a lee filter and a hitec one - I understand the difference is more marked when stacking multiple filters.

I would stick with the Lee choice, really.

Short demand? Obtaining Lee grads is not too bad, it's the more specialist filters like the BS that can take a while. The wait for Lee is down to their manufacturing process. Lee, like any manufacturer who knows what they are doing adopt the Lean process, the one piece flow, manufacture to order only and hold little to no buffer stock.

Everyone keeps talking about long lead times for Lee stuff. I've always been very fortunate and never had to wait maybe more than 5 days for any of my Lee kit.

This advice has been given to you already, or are you choosing not to listen?

It doesn't matter what retailer you order from, the lead time will be the same. How long you have to wait depends on number of back orders at Lee.

I found Dale in Leeds to be the most reasonable for Lee grads
