120 film scanning

I would like to scan my own 120 film. I looked a few months ago for a scanner and the cheapest I could find was about £150. Anything a touch cheaper? Or should I spend more?

Spend more and get an Epson Perfection V500 flatbed. It will scan all your negs and prints as well.

Bit higher budget but the best scanner I've ever owned

Hi Martin

I think you'll struggle to find anything under £150. When I don't get a lab to do it or go round my firends to scan I shoot my film with my digital camera. The results are OK for web but wouldn't want to print from them. I should be getting a CanoScan 9000F soon though

You can get V500s on e bay for £150 or less.

There is a slightly older model that does right up to 5x4 maybe more, almost as good as my v700, sorry cant remember the number but it was 4 digits. 150 for a 120 scanner is pretty cheap, 10 years ago, 4500 would get you in the entry level to that sort of gear. If you stretch the budget for a v500 or v700 you will be able to do very high quality enlargements.

The Epson 4990 and 4870 both do up to 5x4.

edit: as do the Epson Perfection 3200 and the F-3200.

V600 get's my vote tbh. Wont do 5x4, but awesome at everything else.
