17-55 IS f/2.8 in a studio

Is it a performer in a studio, do any of you use it for that?

Just ordered one for walkabout stuff but interested to know if you use one.

Don't see why the lens wouldn't be up to studio work, I think it's probably more a question of the abilities of the camera to which it's attached, especially as it'd be a crop as opposed to FF.

It's the same body this guy used to make this slide, as I live not too far from him managed to pick it up and made a good friend

The 17-55 is a very good lens, on a crop body it gives a similar focal length to a 24-70 on Full Frame. Many use the 5D & 24-70 in the studio, so why wouldn't it "work" ?
