18-55mm vs 17-85mm IS

Ok, really tempted by that 40d deal with the 17-85mm IS.
Now If I was to get this, would that lens make the 18-55mm (Non IS) surplus?
If this is the case will throw my lens in with the camera when I sell it. If not will just be the body.

yes, if i was you i would ditch the 18-55mm, most people upgrade theres to a 17-85mm anyway so you might aswell sell it with the camera. of course 18-55mm kit lenses wont make much on the second hand market especially as its none IS but it is still worth around £25, so i'd say go for it.
