Haha, nice. I don't think I've seen many macros of insects getting busy. Good set, I like the first and 2nd to last one the most.

Great set love the classic 'doggy' shot in the third but the detail in all of them is excellent :)

Was the fly 'roughing it' then? :)

Hmm.. I suspect the first image isn't quite so amorous. Looks to me like an ensign fly that is making a meal of the midge. Still.. I might be wrong, anything is possible when Spring is in the air.

Great set Icy, interesting selection.

Edit: actually not so sure it's an ensign fly, but regardless I don't think it's giving the midge hugs and kisses!

Thanks all of the kind replies:) I saw at least 6 pair of those beetles were mating and lots of small baby beetles in there.
