Hi all,

I'm currently looking to get a monitor for a new PC arriving soon.

I'm looking for a 19-20" TFT screen.

I'm currently looking at the Samsung T200 which to me seems a reasonable monitor BUT its been a number of years since I last went monitor shopping and even then it wasnt with photo editing in mind.

This is the one I'm currently thinking about but would love suggestions of others, My budget is about £150 give or take.

T200

Has anyone used this or got recommendations of others to consider. I've searched the forum and can find no reference to this monitor and other monitor requests seem to be looking for larger screens than I am :(

Many thanks in advance.

Andrew

I believe that has the TN panel.

I recommend the Dell 2209WA, often regarded as the best 22" monitor you can get at the moment although it is a little more expensive then the Samsung. It also has an S-IPS panel. You can see better images of the monitor here.

For the extra money you get a lot better monitor.

Edit: Do not get the one from eBuyer as it looks like it is as ex-display model. You can read endgaget review here .

£210 from overclockers.co.uk (although if eBuyer do get some more they were doing it around the £190 price.

unfortunately the Dell although great is 2" larger than I'm wanting and nearly double my realistic budget. :'(

EDIT: £210 is a much better price than I'd seen. Dell wanted £280ish

Personally I would rather wait a little longer and get a better panelled monitor as you will probably have it for a good number of years all being well.

It has the added bonus of being able to swivel into portrait mode as well as having a USB port built in.

£210 is dearer then eBuyer were doing the monitor at. Looks like they have just ran out of stock.

Andrew I have the T220 (actually the T220HD with the tv built in) and can't fault it, the colour is good, nice even brightness.

Sure you can probably buy better but that would be true no matter what you buy and how much money you spend, if the Samsung fits your budget you could do a lot worse.

/edit play.com have a few Samsung 20" monitors that might suit you too. http://www.play.com/Search.aspx?sea..."+monitor&page=search&pa=search&go.x=0&go.y=0

i got the t240hd. i like it and happy with the results, better than the cheap 17" thing i had before:thumbs:

Thanks Guy's after much further reading I've taken the plunge and gone for the Dell 2209WA.
