1D 3 OR 7D

Hi John, I own a 7d and have used the 1dmk3 a lot. If i had to choose now, with the prices mk3s on ebay id go fir that over the 7.

The AF is better, and I find the colour reproduction a little better, especially with reds. Its also a fully pro body, and you can tell that from the soubd of the shutter mechanism, it sounds solid and strong.

That being said, for my work, I like the 1.6 crop factor of the 7d over a 1.3 crop on the mk3. The other pro (in a sense) is more megapixels, but that wouldnt sway me away from the mk3!

I'm with Sam. I had a 1D3 and it was fantastic but a bit bulky. I tried a 7D for a few weeks but couldn't get on with it and went back to the mk3. 7D is no doubt a fine camera but the 1 series is a step up. Some of my favourite protraits were with a mk3 and the files take a lot of post processing if you want/need to push them about a bit.
