1D Mark III AF fix

Can anyone confirm that all 1D MIII s' that have been back to Canon for the fix, do have the xtra white dot in the battery compartment.
I emailed Canon to enquire with the serial number but they told me they could not help :shrug:

Mine has. It also has a big fat letter from Canon about it.

I imagine it is not difficult to mark a paint dot yourself, but bare in mind that Canon did and still do (I believe) all these repairs free of charge. So don't worry about it too much.
 
Thanks for that, it hasn't arrived yet but I'm pretty sure none of the fixes have been done as the guy I bought it from didn't know anything about them.
Not too worried as I had checked that canon was still supporting the fixes for second owners, but it will be nice to know for sure one way or the other when it does get here.

Plus you'll effectively get a free clean and lubrication service. I can't see why so many people stress about this.
 
The magic is 546561, Tara.....anything after that had the new sub-mirror assembly.

As I understand it the problem was only noticeable when firing long sequences of shots at max fps - this may not be an issue depending on how you use the camera.

Thanks all, the camera in question as only ever been used in a studio for fashion shoots, so I don't think it would have encountered the AF problems in servo mode. I'm not fretting about it , if the AF seems off to me I'll send it in, if it seems fine I'll probably not. Just wanted to be sure I was right about the extra dot....
Might be back to pick uncle Canon Bobs brains about Canon service in France.
