Evening all

I was shooting earlier on in the heavy rain we have all had and all of a sudden my viewfinder just stopped illuminating my af points when I try and select one. Every so often it comes back but it's so faint I could hardly see it even with the custom function turned up to brightest.
When I press the af selection button then press the joystick I get up half the focus points on the top around the outside.

I have tried resetting all settings but this has had no effect, I know a few people have had problems today down at the track I was shooting and there problems 'touchwood' have rectified themselves.

Many thanks for your help

As you mentioned rain i'm guessing the camera got wet? I'd personally stop using it and take the battery out in case something shorts and give it a good drying out before deciding what to do.
A rain cover is a good investment (yes even for 1D cameras) :)

Yep the camera definitely got wet, 4 hours of pretty much constant rain.
I always use a rain cover when ever it starts raining.

An update that my points have come back but some are really faint and others are bright. Anyone have any ideas as I have none?

Hi, it could be possible the focus screen may want a clean now,i have removed plenty on the mk3 ,they are very delicate and it only takes a slight touch and they can smear ,could be the rain drying and smudging ,you get the tool with a new one for removing it,pretty easy to do.
