Lovely colours, specially the first one. Good focus too! (y) (y) What settings were you using?

Personally, I'd crop it so the droplet was more in the middle :)

iso 100
shutter 1/1200
F16
Manual

I used manual focus, the colours where what I messed with in PP as it was just plain old clear tap water and a light blue top.

Thanks Ash

Lighting was:

Pitch black dark outside window infront of sink, 4 spot lamp kitchen lights and on camera flash.

These came out alot better than i ever expected them too.

Cool :) In general, I'd keep external lighting to an absolute minmum, and rely purely on the flash if possible :) They are indeed good for a first go!

Will take that onboard about the lighting for next time, thanks for all the info

Excellent shots for a first attempt (y) prefer 1 & 3 as the water ripples have a nice silky look to them! I agree with Ash about the ambient light though ... Having said that they are nice and sharp ... perhaps a bit of cropping or better framing would help too ... :)
