Got at 10 stop nd filter last week so i took it out for a quick play today and this was the result

Why do you say that?I'm not sure how experienced you are, Chris, but I would suggest taking some time to explore the landscape with your camera and leave the big stopper at home until you've mastered more of the basics.

Fair points, but he did say it was a quick play, and also his first attempt with the filter.Because a 10 stop ND filter is a very specialised piece of equipment. It adds a number of problems (camera shake, colour balance, visualising the image) to those already involved in taking a decent landscape picture. The use of one will not suddenly make a masterpiece. (silk purse etc......).
I accept that this image is well exposed but what about composition? Are these conditions the most suitable for this type of image?
