Found this little bugger on my Westie, couple of minutes spinning it and it came off. Thought I'd try and shoot it, bloody hard work chasing it round :D

That is... quite something. Love the shadow cast by what I presume to be a flash?
 
great shot by the way,I was bird watching in Speyside Scotland,on the moorland looking for black grouse,I had an itch on my belly,I gave it a scratch and there was one of these critters attached to me,a friend burnt it off with his lighter.
 
That is well fed, did you not want to squish it lol. Great picture :)

Horrid things Tics, my old dog used to pick them up. I found a drop of scotch made them release with no danger of leaving the mouth parts behind.
Good macro too(y)
 
Thanks Rhod, waste scotch :nono: the spinning technique sounds crazy but works.
 
Nasty little critters, great shot though ;) I find our dog's flea treatment keeps these off of him.
