1st shots with 80-200 lens

I have had my newly acquired 80-200 lens for a couple of weeks now but not managed to give it much of a try.

The weather today has been misty all day but I managed to get my not so willing other half to strike a few poses for me.

These were shot with OCF which I am also a beginner at and would like to practice more with my kids but at 1 and 3 years of age there is not a chance of keeping them still for more than 2 seconds.

She looks pretty willing to me, unless you're falling backwards into a bush just after pressing the shutter which is making her smile


If the 80-200 you've got is the f/2.8 for portraits it's the setting you should use, aperture priority, f/2.8 so it blows the background out of focus concentrating the eye on the subject

The boxer looks like he'd make a willing subject , his pose is perfect , they're both nice shots you just need to play about with the aperture settings

Except he's using OCF so unlikely to get f2.8 at his sync speed.
 
Nice first attempts with OCF. Watch the horizon though, the benches in the backdrop in the first look crooked. Or are they on a slope?

The lighting is a little cool in the first, what WB were on? You could warm it up a little in post. Lighting is pot on in second. Nice shots :)
