Hi

When submitting digital images into a competition would you advise having a border around the image?
This is my firdsst time at entering a competition and i'm unsure wether or ont to add a border.

Thanks

Unless the rules tell you not to, it's personal preference. It's a while since I've seen any digital images projected for competition purposes, but from memory, the images are often on a coloured background anyway to make up the aspect ratio, and a very thin white border can look good on these, especially for black and white.

i tend to think that a border helps to frame a print and can add a bit of quality to the image. hope that helps.

My own take on this is that if the image has a lot of black/near black around the edges then a small white border helps to define the image against the (normally) black background that most projection systems give. If, on the other hand, the image is quite a bit lighter then I don't think a border works so well.

Remember, the border has to be within the 1024x760 limits.

Good luck with the competition :)
