so two simple questions. one more simple than the other but here it is.. i need to know how to give the same effect of a pic below because a friend of mine wants to take a picture similar.. second question which might be harder in this forum, is: the name of the flower???

Stargazer Lily I think - and err over expose I think. Left hand side here looks good to be, but it is also somewhat burnt over on the right for my liking.

But, hey what do I know i'M ONLY A BEGINNER
 
That looks to me like it's been shot on a white background, then it's been made Sepia'ish (just a white balance and saturation thing really), and then selectively overexposed.

I don't think that was overexposed in the camera but rather in PP, as to me there are body parts that should be blown but aren't, also a strange artefact on her left hip looks like a tell tale sign of bad masking when twiddling with exposure.
 
IN MY OPINION...(etc.)

It's a really poor picture. The focus point seems to be on the woman's thumb of all things - and I would suspect, looking at the bits which are in focus that it might have been slightly underexposed. Both those things probably explain why it has been post processed so aggressively. As mentioned above they've clearly messed up the PP on the left-hip - I can't even work out what has happened there. I'd have removed the flower stalk as well, which is just a pointless distraction.

And it is one of those poses that you can't help but think...is she dead? This probably isn't helped by the inclusion of a lily, overexposed to seem as white as possible, being placed on her torso.

Er...yeah. In my opinion and all that.
 
wow im getting a lot of help here :) so.. expose the picture correctly,white backgroun and then adjust the white balance?
im just tryn to get a similar picture, same colors though maybe b&w. but for the most part, just looking for a good picture of a pregnant woman in that angle...
and for those who think is not a good picture, GREAT help find a better one or upload some ideas please
