2 good shots, the BW of your uncle would look great if you really gave it some more contrast, he's got a very detailed face.

Thank you for the comments. My daughter Hannah just loves to pose in front of the camera. My Uncle has one of those faces that just just tell a thousand tales, and believe me his life spent during the communist regime in Hungary certainly does tell the tales. I have been wanting to capture this shot for a round 20 yrs and I have a whole sequence of them, well worth the wait.

I think Uncle Glen has the right idea, but might have over done it for my tastes, but still shows what can be done.

Both very nice shots.
Nice, warm lighting on the pic of your daughter - I'd give it a bit of a sharpen & remove the hair going across her nose though as I find it quite distracting.
Think somewhere between your original image & Glens edit would be spot on imo.
Very nicely captured overall though
