2 more newbies from Tokina - 12-28 [DX] and 70-200 f/4 [FX]

Presumably the 12-28 is going to replace the 12-24? If not I can't help but wonder why they'd go to the trouble. If it improves on that lens it will be quite something. 70-200 will be interesting. I love Tokina's build quality but I don't remember any of their teles being particularly highly regarded.
 
The 70-200 f4 stabilised has been known about for a year as they displayed a prototype.

They have the 11-16 but that's a 2.8 lens this is an f4 so you would expect it be be priced accordingly. I'm looking at this with interest as I am trying to plan my lens purchases and a wide could be useful.

I agree with the sentiment on pricing and reviews though. To high priced and people will go for the Nikon 70-200 or maybe stick with the known good 11-16.
 
Now it seems official at least. They really needed to get it out before Nikon, it would have done well in that case.

I suspect the price and quality will have more to do with it than which is in hands first, the nikon is still on pre-order isn't it?

At least the Nikon people now have the option of a f4, which for me will probably be enough. I don't use my 55-200 a huge amount so I can't see the value of spending a ton on one (yes I know the Sigma HSM lenses are selling VERY cheap used now)
