Sincere apologies but i`m missing something big time somewhere. I just cant get my pics down to below the required 200kb in order to post them . Some one please put me right ?. Many thanks . Take care . Ron
Quite the newbie , this one . Thanks for replying. OS ?. I have the usual stuff with camera , zoombrowser , digital proffesional , and Corel . Any good ?
The easist way is to have a flickr.com, photobucket or something similar account. You upload your pictures to them ( I use flickr and picassa and you do not have to resize the pictures ). When you want to add a picture to a post or reply click on the square with a yellow top half and mountain at the bottom ( part of the toolbar when posting a reply ) and then cut and paste the URL of the image and it is done.
On flickr to get the URL of the image you right click on the picture and go to properties. Make sure you click on the large picture and not the thumbnail or you will only get the thumbnail.
Hope that helps
Load the picture into a graphics package (corel should do it), resize to 800 pixels across and save as a jpeg at 80% that should come in at about the required size. If not then just adjust the quality slider.
Oh and if you use photoshop elements or photoshop then script writer (see my sig) has an option that saves your jpeg at the highest quality it can that falls under the size you specify whilst resizing at the same time (plus borders etc).
The 200kb limit is for uploading your pics to your TP gallery. If you use other hosting site like flickr or photobucket the you can post them on here if they are over 200kb (within reason) as long as they are not over 800 pixels on the longest side.
If your using elements, there is an option to "save for web" if you open your photo, choose this option, it opens another screen. Here you can alter the width to 800 pixels (lower end right hand side) and then choose the quality to reduce if still required to 200 (top right hand side).
Save in another file, open up your gallery here and direct it to this file you've just created (I pop mine in a folder called TP, so I don't pick the original one by mistake)
