Just wanted to share a few pics from 2015. Didn't get to many events, but i quite enjoyed the ones i did do. Not in the same league as 99% of the members on here but thought I'd put em up anyway!

C&C welcome as always. (and the trolling... @MattyW ;) )

Started my motorsport season off with a Fuji. "You can't shoot motorsport with a mirrorless camera" I beg to differ. Was awesome!

#1 - Silverstone for the Blancpain Endurance Series.

#2 - Not having a long lens makes for some interesting interpretations...

#5 - Caught the BTCC bug... So on to Croft. What the hell have i just paid to watch? Really hated the circuit and never found my mojo. Shame.

#7 - Never been a fan of filling the frame with a car, but when it's a Hamilton i guess i can make an exception... ;)

#8 - New camera time. Back to a DSLR. REALLY missed my Fuji for this event. No idea why, but the experience wasn't a good one. I put it down to 'getting to know the camera' but in hindsight perhaps the 'FUN CUP' wasn't the best event to try it out at as it was pretty boring imo. 1/15:

The i went on a bit of a sabbatical and landscapes took over for a while. Then the offer of a free ticket came for the WRC. Ended up ditching the free ticket which was for the Chirk Castle stage and bought a forest pass instead. Had an absolutely awesome time even if it was torrential rain for the whole day! 12am start for this one.

#10 - Pitch black, front runners turned up at pace and i was flapping about like a good 'un! More luck than judgement that i came away with anything i think!

#11 - Still didn't have a long lens!! Had to make do with an 85mm on a DX body. Really pushing my creative side now! 1/30 sideways pan. Thanks to my mentor for the masterclass... ;)

#12 - Completely stupid place to stand. I s*** myself and barrel rolled down the banking. Safe to say i retreated to higher ground for the next pap pap.

#17 - The weather made the event even more special imo. It offered the chance to make some really great shots (not that i did!).

#18 - No rally event is complete without the iconic Mk2 Escort. Interesting crop for this one, perhaps i'll have it printed if i ever need a bookmark! :D

So there we have it. Not actually that many events, but the WRC was an epic experience and i can't wait to do it all again next year!

If you've made it this far, then thanks for looking!

David.

Nice work David, I'd definitely say you need a bit more reach next year. With that said I really like the composure in the 15th shot.

Thanks Martin. It's on my list of things to get but with this not being my main interest, other things get in the way first! Ironically, #15 is a massive crop to get that composure.

Some good stuff mate. I love 16, as I might have said a couple of times already...

Next year can only get better!!

Thought about it myself a few times actually. Might have to give it a go next year

Yeah sounds like a plan. We say this about a lot of things lol, only done one of them ;)

Don't do yourself down mate, these make for really good viewing. I think the lack of standard motorsport kit forces you to think about your compositions, and it would be easy just to rock loads of side on pans, but you've done well to present a range of shots.
Technically, all pretty good. I think 3 is my pick, really interesting composition. The rally shots are great, but Im jealous that you ended up with better shots than me haha!
Hope you get to more events next year, and maybe i'll bump into you for another rally GB mission, if not before!

Usually the weather puts the dampers on the plans we make, but I'm sure we'll get a few more chances this coming year.

Ha, cheers. I deliberately left most of the side on pans out as they get a bit boring after a while. Just need to make sure i don't shoot loads of one style. Looking to work on some stuff and improve a few things next year so it will be nice tox compare them again this time next year.

Best laid plans and all that.

Obviously seen most of these already m8, but still like them very much and so nice to see them all in one set. "Great Stuff".(y)

George.

Awesome work @minnnt.

Some good composition too, love the black and white rally shots.

Cheers buddy. We'll have to hit Brand Hatch sometime in 2016!

Thanks George. Hope Yvonne and your goodself had a good Christmas and New Year! Looking forward to improving this year!

#17 is a lovely taken photo!

Thanks Adam. Love going wide, it's much more my style. Having said that, I've addressed my long lens issue by ordering a Siggy 150-600mm.

Good work David, #15 is my favourite but some where the cars are quite small in the frame work very well too.

Great set...shows you don't need a big lens to create good motorsport photos, my fave has to be 17.

Thanks Neil. It was a case of making the most of what i had. Turns out they're some of my favourite shots of the year.

Love all of the rally ones, great action and landscape for context. Makes me determined to get to more rallies next year….

Thanks matey. The stages are really big with it being a WRC and so is the scenery. Quite a big variation in levels too which made the scene even bigger.

Thanks Paul. The stages are incredible. Just begging to be shot.
