2026 Week 36 One Street Many Stories

Very nostalgic its been a very long time since I did an airfix kit used to love them when I was a kid

'257 Squadron' - a Southern Railway Battle of Britain 4-6-2 Light Pacific aka Spam Can :)

Based at the East Lancashire Railway for a while. Nice shot coming under the bridge :)

I was rather hoping for a fuller description, my train knowledge is small but doesn’t stop me enjoying the experience and the character, very photogenic. Flying Scotsman is heading to Swanage in October, although the “Gin Train” in September is appealing :)

It looks like you were working the points and then stepped back to take the shot. Brilliant !

Yep - good take on the theme. As for a photo - it's underexposed for a daylight shot.

Hits the theme. I do like the wider shot too. The shafts of light across the road give a sense of time.

Great interpretation Alan, I think that I like the second shot though with all the lines snaking off the pole.

I was struggling with the contrast on a bright day and needing to shoot into the light which wasn't really resolved in Lightroom. Learning point when composing the picture.

Suits the theme, another here who prefers the wide shot. Reminded me of having a shared phone line back in the day
I wasn't sure if the houses were a distraction from the telephone line concept, but maybe it adds to the theme?

I am not very good at combining the topic with the technique. In fact, I am not very good at remembering to use the technique. So I have made a special outing to try out some B&W pictures, which is not something that I would normally work with. So interesting to be looking for subjects and opportunities that lend themselves to B&W
