Hi guys, i can't decide which one to buy, i see so many different reviews/opinions which seem to say that there isnt too much between them. I have recently purchased the fantastic d750 and have been putting away some hard earned pennies for this lens, I now have the money for the nikon lens but at a few hundred pounds more, i am now wondering if the tamron is a better option as christmas is around the corner!. I'm not really interested in sell on value as i would be keeping hold of it anyway......is there really that much between them?

Thanks Steve

If doing it again I would personally get the Tamron which is £669 here http://www.digitalrev.com/product/tamron-sp-24-70mm-f/MTAwMDMyMw_A_A

I have the Nikon 24-70 and a friend had the Tamron 24-70 and on most occasions the images were of similar quality. The Tamron has the benefit of vibration control so can get more favourable results. With the money saved get some quality 1.8 primes for the kit bag.

Cheers, thats kind of what i was thinking, also with the v/c bonus as i haven't got the steadiest of hands at times.
There was a thread on this very recently - worth a read. http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/threads/which-24-70-for-my-d800.563737/#post-6528792

Personally I have the Tamron and its never off my D800, stunning lens.

Heres some of my shots with it and D800 on Flickr
