HI ALL JUST GOT A CANNON 300D AND WONDER IF I COULD PUT A 2GB CARD IN MY CAMERA AND IF SO DOES IT HAVE TO BE A CANNON CARD OR NOT AND HOW MUCH WOULD ONE COST ?

I'm not a Canon man but cant see any reason why you cant put a 2GB (or more GB if you want to) into the 300D and no it does not have to be a Canon.....Sandisk have a good name
I bought my last 8GB Sandisk card from here - very pleased with it.

I've used MyMemory.co.uk before, they're good.

2Gb is not much though, depends if you just shoot JPG or not, if you're snap happy and shoot in RAW then 2Gb will be gone in seconds. I'd go for a bigger card, you can get a nice 16Gb for £20.

Gone in seconds! .....2Gb will store approximately 285 images if recording in RAW and Med JPG.
The 300D will also accept 4Gb cards....570 images appx.
2Gb will set you back around £10 and 4Gb nearer to £15

SURE YOU CAN PUT ONE IN
DOESN'T HAVE TO BE CANNON
2 GIGS WILL RUN YOU ~£6

I think I'd still get a couple of 4Gbs or an 8gb, just in case you go on holiday or something and can't empty the card for a while. Compared to the cost of everything else in the photography world, cards are cheap as chips and there's nothing worse than seeing "CARD FULL" and deciding which shots to delete to make room for some more.

I would say avoid ebay on cards as you can't be sure they are genuine. (and I do use ebay a lot for other things!).
