Yes
I'm seeing an awful lot of adverts recently for these REALLY cheap.

I know there's the saying "If it's too good to be true, then it probably is". But these seem to be popping up everywhere.

How's about this, on sale today on Gumtree (London):

Canon 5D Mk.II Mint condition - 1k actuations
Canon Speedlite 580 Flash Gun
Canon 28-135mm EF Lens
Spare Battery
£550

Stolen? Or is there something I need to know about the 5D Mk2?

New it's be at least £2,700.

I can hardly phone him and say "Hi, is this stolen?"

There seem to be a fair few of them around at this price tho...

It's on Gumtree.... If it's not stolen it'll be a scam.

Steve

Ask for a photo of the camera with a bit of paper with user name if it's Amazon etc or full christian and surname if it's Gumtree.
When they talk their way out of supplying this, walk away and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

A mate at work tried to buy a 5DmkII via Gumtree recently. Stupidly good price, low actuations (used once on holiday apparently). The seller was in Scotland, when my mate offered to drive up with the cash it all got very awkward. Clearly a scam.

The one in Leith? I see there's a warning been posted about it...

There's a ridiculously cheap one (with lens, flash and extra battery) in the Tottenham area at the moment. There's either a number missing from the asking price, or 'something' is up...

Pity, cos I'd love a 5d2, especially at that price! :(

That's the one I'm posting about!

We all would but reality is if you want one for that price you might be waiting a long time, cus any being advertised at that price now is a scam and you will end up out of pocket.

You go with these sellers at your peril. A 5D Mk1 can't be had for £500 let alone a 5D MkII with bits n pieces. Better to save up and get one from say, MPB Photographic or The Canon Outlet on EBay.

Gum Tree sadly is a buyer-beware zone.
