I have been asked to work as a second shooter at a wedding. Usually I am reluctant to do weddings but have to recognise this is an opportunity and money.
Guy is a long time professional with Canon 5D's (Mk2's i think), Canon Strobes and glass. He will do all the PP. He has some great quality work.
I am a Nikon guy, D700 but don't have the trinity lenses but have a Tamron 17-35, Sigma 24-70 f2.8, older nikon 80-200 f2.8D, 20/28/35/50/85 primes and an SB600.
Equipment questions are do we think these lenses, the zooms ideally, are good enough, and do you think he will have a hard time colour matching on my different equipment?
Do you think the SB600 is good enough, or would it be better to go 800 or 900 with an external power supply? I'm hearing stories the 900 colour temperature is cooler than the 600/800?
Lastly, not so much equipmenty, but just wondering what are the key functions and skills required for this role. I get the impression it would be grrom at house, early group shots of guests and candids. Presumably balnced flash/fill in flash, organising groups are the main technical skills?
Sorry if they are dumb questions, I have done a couple of weddings for friends but informally and have never worked alongside a pro. He hasn't looked in my camera bag yet so just trying to anticipate some problem areas let alone any working issues.
