Yes
eons old, but a good un none the less.

3 blokes buy a TV for £30.

They each pay £10.

The shop keeper says he's feeling generous and decides he'll sell the TV to them for £25 instead of the £30 tag.

Obviously with a fiver difference in the price, the shop keeper decides to give each of the blokes a pound each back ( £3 ) and keep the remaining £2 himself.

So now, in theory, each of the blokes has paid £9 as they each have a pound change in their pockets.

If you total 3 x £9's, which = £27 and add the £2 the shop keeper has in his pocket, this = £29.

Where has the other £1 gone ?

The TV costs £30, they each pay £10.

The owner decides to sell it for £25 so the actual cost is £25/3 = £8.33 each instead of £10. The owner gives them the £1 so this goes to £9.33. £9.33 (the 3 is actually recurring but I don't think there's a symbol for that on the keyboard layout).

So, £9.33 x 3 = £28 and the owner has the other £2.
