A wander down a local farm track the other day got me these lovelies.

First up the Banded demoiselle, My first sighting of this fella in 5 years back in the UK....

All lovely shots Tara, I use the Nikon Z8 and 100-400 S lens for all my Butterfly and whatever I see now and my macro lens for anything smaller.

Previously my go to was the venerable Canon EF 300mm F4 IS + 1.4tc plus whatever body I was using at the time, I did have a macro lens but sold it as it got very little use. French bugs were too flighty for me to get near enough, thought about replacing it a while ago but now, I'm not sure there's a point this set up is good enough for me.
 
Real nice set the open wing shot is superb they don’t very often pose with open wings
