Hi everyone

been on here a little while just collecting info/views/opinions, like what i've seen so far, great forum.

So... i have just bought a nikkor 35mm f2!
what can i expect from this lens? will it blow my mind, i currently have a d70s
with 18-70mm f3.5-4.5.

i bought it to get better at low light/night/street shots,

opinions please

paul

It's a good lens but you'll still be shooting high ISOs with a d70s. In the daytime (sunny weather) with high contrast situations watch out for huge CA, e.g., white tie on black shirt. Personally, I'd get the 35/1.8 G or a 50/1.4 for low light shooting.

Hi,

As Paul said, high ISO would be needed. You could always get a spot set up and use cable release with a slower shutter speed etc.

Just a word about the lens. I use it all the time for street work BUT! it is on a Nikon F3 (film) and just the same rule applies i.e. if I am out in the evening I use a 400 or 800 film (or higher). The lens has great resolving power and nice subtle OOF.

Hope this helps.
